The name of this hall(built between 1612 and 1616) comes from the subject of the central picture(now lost) on the ceiling. It showed Apollo on his sun shariot being drawn by four white horses.
In the 17th century the hall was used as an imperial dining room.
The room was destroyed in 1944 but rebuilt in simpler form between 1980 and 1985.
